Collection: J.Daziaro - Handcoloured Photographs

Giuseppe Daziaro (1796 or 1806–1865) was a publisher and print merchant who traveled extensively throughout Russia. In 1827, he opened a store in Moscow and, in 1832, founded Russia’s first private lithographic workshop. After his death, his brother closed the Paris store and returned to Italy. The Moscow shop was taken over by his son, Joseph Daziaro, who expanded the business to include photography, producing city views, portraits, and famous paintings. These prints are from two photo albums, Souvenir de Moscou and Moscou, featuring black-and-white and hand-colored photographs of Moscow, which were released during this period.
