Collection: Aid to the Identification of Insects

Charles Owen Waterhouse ISO (19 June 1843 – 4 February 1917) was an English entomologist specializing in Coleoptera. The eldest son of George Robert Waterhouse, he worked as an Assistant Keeper at the British Museum (Natural History) in London. Waterhouse contributed the Buprestidae section to Biologia Centrali-Americana (1889) by Frederick DuCane Godman and Osbert Salvin and published numerous papers on the museum's global beetle collections, describing hundreds of new species. ‘Aid to the Identification of Insects’ was edited by Waterhouse with lithographs by Edwin Wilson.
